I have returned to civilization although blogging is far from the highest form of communication. CBC Radio’s morning host in Saskatchewan, Sheila Coles, has earned a plum assignment with the network. For the next 6 weeks, she will host the Friday edition of the national current affairs show ‘The Current‘ from the Regina studios. (She will also participate Thursday mornings in the letters section of the program.) CBC Political reporter Stefani Langenegger fills in for Coles on Thursday/Friday for the next 6 weeks on the Morning Edition.
Veteran anchor of CBC News at 6, Costa Maragos, who has been on a personal sabbatical of sorts for the past 6 months, returns to his familiar news desk this coming Monday. Geoff Leo has been anchoring the hour-long show in Maragos’ absence.

The University of Regina Journalism School has lined up an impressive speaker for its annual Minifie Lecture. Terry Milewski, the CBC-TV’s Vancouver-based reporter has been confirmed as this year’s presenter. Milewski distinguished himself last year with some excellent reporting on the Mumbai bombings. No date has been set yet for the lecture.
